The Colossus of Rhodes built in 290 BCC by the Greeks. This was a huge statue of the Greek God Helios, 110 ft. tall. It overlooked the harbor. He was thought to hold a torch in one hand and a spear in the other. Ships sailed into the harbirm under the statue, between its feet. Destroyed by earthquake, much of the bronae was salvaged.
