The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus. a place of Pilgrimage and refuge. Built by the Persians and Greeks. It took 20 years to build and was damaged by plundering and arson. Ephesus was in Turkey. St. Paul lived there, two years and St. John wlrote his gospel there. Stone columns supported the roof.
